Malaysian entrepreneur Christien New has plans to digitize the way energy is distributed throughout SouthEast Asia. In a power plant that New opened in 2002, PT Bintan Power Plant is a leading energy provider in Indonesia that reportedly generates 13,000MW of electricity to power nearly 15 million households in Southeast Asia.  

New expresses his belief in the power generated and the power that is being transmitted to the consumer. He further explains his plan to retrofit currency energy estates, in Southeast Asia with feedback sensors, gateways and wireless communications to collect real-time data via IoT platforms.
